About GRH Training

GRH Training Consultancy Ltd was established by Gillian Rothery in 2007. The Company is based near Rye and since its formation has been involved in making a difference to people in the community.

The first few years of the Company saw Gillian delivering freelance training in the welfare to work sector working in partnerships with local organisations in this field. More recently the company has expanded by becoming a training provider for East Sussex County Council’s Family Learning Contract covering the Hastings, St. Leonards, Bexhill and Rye. The company also works further afield in Eastbourne, Hailsham, Ticehurst, Lewes, Seaford, Ringmer, Chailey and Peacehaven areas.


GRHT’s vision is to maintain its current contract and to develop into other areas utilising the skills of a greater number of Associates as well as continuing to benefit the community by helping individuals increase their confidence and widen their skills.

Wide Range

GRHT has developed and delivered a wide range of bespoke training courses giving a large number of local people an awareness of recruitment processes.


GRHT has worked in partnership with many organisations which includes the Job Centre, local colleges, schools, children’s centres and large local employers.

Local Tutors

GRHT highly values the many local tutors who now work for us as Associates.

Adult Education

GRHT has provided a service to Adult Education at Claverham College.

Senior Schools

GRHT has assisted in taking business projects into Senior Schools.

Primary Schools and Children's Centres

GRHT has worked in local primary schools and children centres providing a range of courses including Numeracy and Literacy.

A total of 220 people were trained and methods of delivery refined to meet the diversity of the learners who were from various social inclusion backgrounds and included the Hardest to Help Contract

Delivered courses for the Best Project - How to Sell Yourself, Skills for New Beginnings

Sussex Downs College

  • Designed and delivered courses for the Navigate Programme - How to Sell Yourself, Better Yourself, Interview Techniques and New Beginnings
  • Developed and delivered a 9-week course (x 3) for the Work-Focused Training Programme for thirty 18-24 year olds

Sussex Coast College

Career Skills Programme running a course for those in the Construction sector to understand the recruitment process

Excellence Cluster

Delivered a Level 2 Certificate - Accessing Lifelong Learning Course at Hollington Primary School the aim of which was to mentor Learning Champions to create a learning culture in the community

East Sussex County Council

The selected Family Learning Contract training provider working with 11 local primary schools and 20 children’s centres delivering over 100 courses touching the lives of hundreds of local families.
